Photosynthesis: The plants process of making food. This occurs during the day.
CO2 (Carbon Dioxide) + H2O (Water) → (using light and chlorophil) glucose and Oxygen.
Respiration: The plants method of obtaining energy. This occurs 24/7 (24 hours a day, 7 days a week).
- Glucose and oxygen goes to water and carbon dioxide and energy.
- Note how when we breathe we take in oxygen and give out carbon dioxide and when plants breathe (photosynthesize) they take in carbon dioxide and give out oxygen.
- We rely on the oxygen the plants and trees provide which is why there are now many foundations in aid of saving the trees.
- Remember that respiring gives out CO2 all the time and photosynthesis gives out oxygen, only in daylight.
